More Words of Wisdom from Jack Dorsey
by Scott Edward Walker on February 16th, 2015To Our Clients & Friends: Welcome to our weekly series “Helping Entrepreneurs Succeed.” Each week, we share a favorite video clip of a successful entrepreneur, investor or business leader on a variety of topics. This week, we present Jack Dorsey, co-founder of Twitter and Co-founder and CEO of Square.
In this interesting, seven-minute clip from a couple of years ago (courtesy of vator.tv), Jack shares some solid advice for entrepreneurs, including the following:
- “Just do it. A lot of time is spent thinking about something and talking about it…. You have to get it out there – you have to start.” (at 0:48)
- “Stay simple and be constrained…. It’s important to say ‘no’.” (at 2:42)
- “You need to listen. You need to be still and really listen to what’s going on around you – and let that inform and let that inspire your next steps.” (at 4:37)
- “It’s really about getting the right people together and stepping out of the way…” (at 5:45)
I hope you enjoy it. Cheers, Scott
