Helping Entrepreneurs Succeed: Ben Silbermann
by Scott Edward Walker on November 8th, 2012To Our Clients & Friends: Welcome to our weekly series “Helping Entrepreneurs Succeed.” Each week, we post a favorite video of a successful entrepreneur, investor or business leader on a variety of topics. This week, we present Ben Silbermann, the Co-founder and CEO of Pinterest and a very impressive entrepreneur.
In this interesting, 11-minute clip from a few weeks ago (courtesy of the Startup School), Ben shares Pinterest’s story and the following solid nuggets for entrepreneurs:
- Be great at one thing;
- There are a lot of different ways to succeed;
- Trust the data, your users and your own instincts;
- Give great people equity — it’s the size of the total pie that matters;
- Build something you believe in and “really, really love”; and
- “Don’t give up – don’t let somebody talk you out of your dream.”
I hope you enjoy it. Cheers, Scott
