Helping Entrepreneurs Succeed: Larry Page
by Scott Edward Walker on September 20th, 2012To Our Clients & Friends: Welcome to our weekly series “Helping Entrepreneurs Succeed.” Each week, we share a favorite video of a successful entrepreneur, investor or business leader on a variety of topics. This week, we again present Larry Page, co-founder of Google and a brilliant entrepreneur.
In this interesting, three-minute clip from 2002 (courtesy of Stanford University’s Entrepreneurship Corner), Larry shares the following solid nuggets for entrepreneurs:
- very few companies are founded on technological innovation;
- most companies are marketing or sales driven, not engineering driven;
- engineers too often get excited about things that don’t matter; and
- founders need to focus on what users want.
I hope you enjoy it. Cheers, Scott
